New Hampshire, though it is not a very large state, is still on the eastern seaboard of the United States and as a result is pretty heavily affected by drug and alcohol addiction problems in this area. More specifically, New Hampshire has fallen under the influence of a pretty intensive and a pretty dangerous drug and alcohol addiction crisis the likes of which this state has never seen before. The entire eastern side of the nation has been hit with a heroin epidemic, an epidemic of which New Hampshire has not been able to escape from.

Tackling Drug and Alcohol Addiction with Inpatient Rehabilitation

Substance abuse is a major crisis no matter what, but it is a crisis that can and should be addressed. The key, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, is to utilize inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment centers, detox facilities, rehabilitation programs, and recovery organizations to tackle it. A few programs like this in New Hampshire are:

  • Nashua has the Greater Nashua Council on Alcoholism’s Cynthia Day Family Center, which is a great inpatient rehabilitation center for alcohol addiction.
  • Dublin is represented by the Phoenix House of New England’s Dublin Center/Adult Residential. This program offers residential detoxification and rehabilitation both.
  • Dover addicts can go to the Southeastern New Hampshire Services Addiction Recovery Center, which offers a wide variety of services to addicts of all ages, sexes, backgrounds, income levels, and addictions.
