APT Foundation Inc Access and Treatment Services

The Access Center is available for immediate or direct admission. It is not unusual for individuals to be assessed and begin services the same day or the next business day. Calls can be made to the Access Center to coordinate transfers from other programs or direct admissions by dialing (203) 781-4357.

The Access Center provides walk-in hours for all individuals seeking admission between the hours of 7:30a.m.-12 noon (Monday – Friday) and individuals are seen on a first come first serve basis during these hours.

Individual’s seeking admission participate in a 1:1 evaluation with a Master’s trained and licensed clinician, lasting 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the type of services that may be indicated. Upon completion of the evaluation and a review of the assessment tools an initial treatment recommendation is given to the individual.

Access Center is highly committed to engage and retain individuals in services while employing strategies to assist in understanding and embracing substance use disorder and mental health issues as chronic diseases. Services are non-confrontational and built on establishing a relationship with mutual respect and dignity.

Group therapy is the primary form of treatment at the Access Center. Individual therapy is viewed as adjunctive to the group driven format and is available based on each individual's needs. Group programming schedules are developed weekly to address the changing needs of our clients. Psychiatric services are available on-site for individual’s who will benefit from medication management.
