Bacon Street Inc

These services are for young people who may be experiencing problems with alcohol or other drugs. When a young person or family first contacts Bacon Street, they are often unsure of what the problem is and of what to do about it. Bacon Street helps these individuals by:

• Determining whether there is a problem and what the nature and extent of the problem is.

• Providing counseling and education to the adolescent and their family so that all will understand the problem and what part they can play in overcoming it.

• Referring to other agencies and organizations who may be able to assist in overcoming their problem.

These services promote the conditions under which people can confront situations in their lives in constructive and healthy way without the destructive response of substance abuse. To promote healthy living, Bacon Street conducts activities which:

• Provide information about alcohol and other drugs and their effects.

• Address attitudes and feelings related to the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs.

• Develop skills and knowledge to help people avoid abusing alcohol and other drugs.

• Confront problems which may lead to the abuse of alcohol and other drugs.

• Improve the quality of life in our communities.
