Outpatient Addictions Services

Confidential assessment, counseling and referral services are provided by credentialed and licensed clinical counselors. A combination of individual, family and group counseling can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the client. Programs are available for youth, women, adult children of alcoholics and other populations with special needs.

• Assessment: Individuals seeking services receive a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment. They are then placed in services at Circle Park or referred to services elsewhere using needs-based criteria established by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
• Care Management: Every client has an assigned case manager, who works closely with the client and his or her family, treatment counselors, and when appropriate, external agencies, to ensure that the client's needs are fully met.
• Individual Counseling: Although most clients progress more quickly with group counseling, individual counseling is used when appropriate, either alone or as an adjunct to group work. It is often most appropriate for family therapy issues that do no involve addictions.
• Group Counseling: As a rule, group counseling is the treatment of choice. Treatment groups are driven by client goals rather than fixed curricula, and tend to rely heavily on cognitive behavioralism and current relapse prevention theories. There are a variety of standing groups.
• Transitional Group: This group helps individuals break through the denial that surrounds their addictions and prepares them for other treatment programs. It is normally conducted weekly and, depending on the severity of his/her denial, a client can attend up to twelve weeks.
• Recovery Dynamics: This six-week group is intended for clients who are stable in withdrawal and motivated to maintain abstinence and develop a support system.
• Compulsive Gambling Edutherapy: An eight - week structured group, along with assessment, individual and family therapy, and continuing care, constitutes Circle Park's Gambling Treatment Program. In group, individuals learn about addictive behaviors, the effects of gambling and community support resources and develop early recovery and relapse prevention skills. The group curriculum is intended to help individuals clarify and cope with maladaptive behavior patterns and is not in itself, and intensive treatment modality.
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Circle Park contracts with a number of local businesses to serve employees and their families. Services include help in developing alcohol/drug policies and procedures, training for managers and other employees, drug testing if the company requests it, and most importantly, counseling whenever it is needed. Supervisors can refer employees if they exhibit on-the-job behavior or performance problems, or employees and family members can seek help confidentially on their own. The EAP is designed to keep good workers productive and to head off personal and family problems before they affect employment.
