The Refuge for Women

The Refuge for Women's alcohol and drug recovery is residential, with programs tailored to suit individual needs and circumstances, from 30 to 180 days. All clients participate in devotionals and bible studies, life skills classes and groups, as well as individual and group counseling. Classes are taught at various times, including anger management, co-dependency, coping skills, and others designed to provide women new and better ways to deal with life issues rather than drinking or drug use. The Refuge for Women also emphasizes the peer support found in Twelve Step Programs, AA, NA, and CODA.  Although the program comes from a decidedly Christian perspective, The Refuge is open to all adult women regardless of race, religion, creed, sexuality, arrest record, etc.

Clients who come to The Refuge for Women come from all aspects of society: rich, poor, educated, dropout, young, and old. The ravages of alcohol and drug abuse seem to make little distinction between economic plight or age. Almost every family has been affected by the tragedy of this problem and, fortunately, every family can be helped.

One thing is certain, if you choose to work our program, your life will be changed for the better.
