Volunteers of America Alaska

Each year Volunteers of America Alaska provides treatment services and assistance to over 600 adolescents and their families. In Volunteers of America Alaska's treatment services, chemically dependent and substance abusing adolescents are given the tools necessary to build a strong and healthy future. Through treatment, adolescents learn the skills needed to eliminate their reliance on drugs or alcohol. Both ARCH and Assist are fully accredited treatment facilities designed to help youth rebuild their lives. These programs offer treatment as well as tremendous support to both teens and their families. Services include counseling with a family therapist and group sessions for parents of teens in our programs. Our programs offer the best available treatment for youth and help for families who are struggling.

Each adolescent referred to Volunteers of America Alaska is assessed by the Intake Coordinator and is reviewed by a placement committee. The youth are carefully assessed and placed in an appropriate level of care depending on their individual needs. Placement is determined by the criteria developed by the American Society of Addictive Medicine and the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
