Program Description
The Williamsville model: a comprehensive, treatment for men and women with gambling dependency with a focus on individual therapy to address the roots of their addiction.

Philosophy
To be a compassionate center for the treatment of problem gambling, integrating individual psychotherapy, family therapy, hypnotherapy, art therapy and wellness issues with a belief in the Twelve Step Program. We provide clients with the essential tools to achieve and maintain abstinence and recovery and restore healthy functioning with a sense of health and well being.

License
Licensed by the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services for treatment of Compulsive Gambling and Alcohol/Chemical Dependency. Please see our license at the bottom of the page.

Location
On 400 acres just north of Richmond, VA in a national historic landmark plantation restored for modern day living.

Testing
Confidential testing identifies the psychological traits of our clients. We use every tool possible to enable the therapist to help the client understand the core issues leading to their addictive behavior.

Program Components
An exercise program, a proper diet of nutritious meals prepared by our award winning chef, and nutritional education to aid in recovery.

The Family Program
A two day family program is suggested after the second week of treatment. This allows the family to begin to understand the addiction, their own issues and how the entire family best support their loved one.

Twelve Step Meetings
Our peer counselor helps the client understand the twelve step philosophy and everyone goes to at least two twelve step meetings each week.

Additionally we have
Massage, Yoga, Golf, and other healthy activities. Williamsville wants the client to experience the joys of life without gambling.
