As a result of a task force that included the Housing Authority of the city of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Drug and Alcohol Programs, The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Tenant Council & Junior Tenant Council of the Addison Terrace Public Housing Community, Addison began providing substance abuse prevention/intervention services to youth and their families residing in the immediate community. The scope of services has continued to increase over the years as communitys needs evolved. The mission remains essentially the same, as does the population Addison serve. However, the geographic service area has extended outside of the Addison Terrace community to include The City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and surrounding counties.
