DUI Georgia Drug & Alcohol Rehab Treatment
For your first offense of drunk driving in the state of Georgia, there is a possibility that you might go to jail for up to a full year. But you will certainly have to pay an amount of money, at least 300 dollars. But this fine could go up to $1000. You will have to spend some time doing community service, 40 hours to be precise. Your license might also get suspended for a year.
If you’re caught for a second time drunk driving, you will have to go to jail for 48 hours automatically. The court could however sentence you to 3 months or even up to a year in jail. You will also have to pay a fine between six hundred or a thousand dollars. You will not be allowed to drive for 3 years since your license will be revoked. And you will be requested to do a month long of community service. The court might request things such as treatments or ignition interlock device installed. After all of this, you have another fee to pay to get your license back, a fee of 210 dollars.
If you still can’t seem to stop and get caught for a third time, you automatically go to jail for fifteen days. At least a thousand dollars will be requested of you, and they might request up to a five thousand dollars. You will not be able to legally drive for five years and will have to do community service for 30 days. You will have to be submitted to an evaluation and if needed might have to go through an addiction program.
There is also a new Georgia law that was passed a year ago and stated the consequences for a fourth DUI conviction. The fine is still between $1000 and $5000. You will have to go to jail for at least a year and up to 5 years, but a judge could decide otherwise and keep you from going to jail. If so, there will only be a ninety days jail sentence to serve. There is also a program for DUI offenders that you will have to through. Sixty days of community service will also be required. There are also some laws for people addicted to drug and alcohol that are driving while on the effect of it.
