DUI Indiana Drug & Alcohol Rehab Treatment

On your first DUI, the fine will be between 300 and 5,000 dollars. And there is also a possibility that you could go to jail for up to a year, if the judge and court sees fit. Your right to drive will also be taken from you for at least thirty days, and then after the suspension is over, you will be allowed to drive but on probation for a certain period of time. There is also a possibility that you might have to go through a substance abuse program. The court might also request that you install the interlock ignition device on your car.

The second DUI conviction you get will cost you at least five days in jail automatically, but the court could extend that period for up to three years. The maximum amount of money that can be requested of you to pay is of 10,000 dollars. Your license will be suspended for a period between 6 months and two years, depending on the circumstances and the court. It is very likely that you will also have to perform a certain amount of community service. The same options are available, such as substance abuse course and ignition interlock device.

If you get a third DUI offense and haven’t learned your lesson with the previous penalties, the penalties get a lot more severe. The time you will have to spend in prison starts at ten days and can go up to three years. There can also be community service that might be requested of you. Your license will be revoked for at least a year but that could go to a big ten years. And at that point you become a habitual traffic violator and that means that the law will be a lot more severe for future offenses. But if you are charged as a habitual substance offender, you could get an additional year in prison, or even 8 additional years.

The laws for driving under the influence apply for a BAC that is of .08%.
