DUI Kansas Drug & Alcohol Rehab Treatment
The first DUI offense in Kansas gets you two days in jail minimum, and also 100 hours of community service. There will also be a request that you educate yourself through a drug safety program which you will have to pay. There will be a fee of at least $500 and a maximum of $1,000. You will also have to pay any expense such as court, evaluation, etc. You will not be allowed to drive for a month and will get a restricted license for 330 days after that.
On the second offense, you will have to be imprisoned for at least 90 days and it can go up to a year. The fine will be between 1,000 and 1,500 dollars, plus additional costs. You will have to go through an alcohol or drug treatment. You will not be allowed to drive for a year, and then when you get your license back, you will have to have the ignition interlock device installed for a full year.
If you get a third DUI offense in Kansas, you will be considered a felon. The jail sentence is the same as the second offense. The fine however increases to $1,500 and can get to $2,500. For the rest of the sanctions, it is basically the same as the second DUI offense and you still have to pay for everything.
The fourth DUI offense is also basically the same as the second and third offense and is also considered a felony. There are a few differences though. The fine you will have pay is of 2,500 dollars. Once you will be released from prison, the Kansas Department of Corrections will supervise you for a year and you will have to go through an alcohol program.
For the fifth offense, the charges will be the same as for the fourth DUI offense. And all future DUI conviction will bring with them the same penalties. Kansas state officials do not think of these offenses as light offenses. These recoomendation aplies to both people addicted to drugs and alcohol.
