DUI Mississippi Drug & Alcohol Rehab Treatment
The first drunk driving charge you get in Mississippi will cost you 250 to 1,000 dollars. The other thing that could happen is that you would have to go to jail for 48 hours or even both. The court will request that you follow a safety program about alcohol and driving. For three months minimum, your driver’s license will be revoked and you also will have to finish your alcohol safety program before you can get it back.
If within the first five years, you get caught drunk driving for a second time, the minimum fine would be six hundred dollars and the maximum fine would be fifteen hundred dollars. You will have to spend mandatory five days in jail and the maximum sentence would be a full year. There is community service you have to do, the minimum amount is ten days and the maximum is a year. Also, you will lose your license for a three year period.
The third DUI offense in Mississippi is seen as a felony. You will have to pay two thousand dollars at least, but it could go up to five thousand dollars. The Department of Corrections of Mississippi will hold you for at least a year and it could go up to five years. If you have caused no injury, this sentence may be replaced by a year in jail. There will not be any possibility of sentence reduction. Your license will be revoked for five years. There are also some laws for people addicted to drug and alcohol that are driving while on the effect of it.
