DUI Missouri Drug & Alcohol Rehab Treatment

The first DWI offense in Missouri will cost the offender five hundred dollars. Also there will be a maximum jail sentence of six months. For a month, they will suspend the driver's license, and then afterwards they will restrict his license for two months. In order for the offender to get his license back, he will have to pay 45 dollars and go through a DUI program.

If the offender gets caught for a second time drunk driving within five years of the first offense, he will have to pay a maximum fine of one thousand dollars. The offender would have to spend a maximum of one year in prison. He also will not be allowed to drive for five years and the way to get it back is the same as the above.

For the third DUI conviction, the offender will have to spend up to five years in prison. Also, the fine increases and can increase up to five thousand dollars. The state of Missouri will suspend the offender’s driver’s license for a full ten years. Another thing that the court could request that the offender install a ignition interlock device.

It is very dangerous to drink and drive, for both the driver and the population. Many people can suffer because one person drives under the influence. The consequences of drunk driving are dire and so people should abstain from drinking if they know they will be driving later on. There are penalties for people addicted to drug and alcohol that are driving while on the effect of such substances.
