The addiction treatment services of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System offer a wide range of treatment options — from hospital-based detoxification and rehabilitation programs to community-based outpatient clinics — at locations across Staten Island, Queens and Long Island.

WestCOP Substance Abuse Services Staff aim to assist client’s further development of coping mechanisms and improved overall functioning in order to effectively deal with life’s problems and insure maintained abstinence.  All treatment goals and supporting activities, are developed in collaboration with the client, recorded on a written plan by their primary counselor and reviewed by the medical director and multi-disciplinary team. 

Located at St. John’s Riverside Hospital’s ParkCare Pavilion in Yonkers, N.Y., the Smithers Alcoholism Treatment and Training Center is the leader in providing evidence-based inpatient and outpatient treatment for alcoholism and drug dependence.

St. Lawrence is one of 12 inpatient addiction treatment centers operated and governed by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. It is OASAS-certified and CARF-accredited, maintains 40 beds (30 male - 10 female), and was established to fulfill needed functions in the alcohol and substance abuse service delivery system in New York's North Country, Lake Champlain and Saratoga Regions, and Capital District.

The Renaissance Project, Inc., a licensed, not-for-profit organization, is committed to the professional treatment of people affected by substance abuse. Begun more than 30 years ago in Westchester County, New York, it provides various programs of quality care, education, self-help and support in guiding all toward constructive lives in society.

Individual, group, and family counseling is provided to help patients cope with the problems of daily living. Each patient is assigned to a Counselor, who assesses and, where necessary, helps modify aspects of the patient's behavior on social, economic and personal levels, utilizing multiple approaches and interventions.

ACI continues the process of recovery in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The person in early recovery will begin to experience life directly without the mask and filter of substances. An addiction counselor is available to discuss new found feelings and situations, both positive and negative, emerging with the gift of sobriety.

The Educational Alliance provides outpatient and residential drug treatment, as well as a drug prevention program.  All programs are comprehensive, confidential and customized to a client's needs.

The recovery program at Freedom Institute addresses early sobriety, as well as problems typically experienced in later stages of recovery. Whether the chemically dependent person has had inpatient treatment or achieved sobriety on his or her own, a period of counseling, group therapy, and a twelve step program.

A specialized team of certified social workers, credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors and qualified health professionals conduct multi-faceted interventions, promote and help maintain sobriety, reduce recidivism and increase employability.
