Throughout the state of Ohio are private and government-funded detox facilities and drug and alcohol treatment centers that are able to help addicts and anyone struggling with a substance abuse problem. Opiate addiction is very common throughout the United States, and for many heroin addicts it can lead to overdoses and even death. When an addict takes too much of the drug or is not aware of what the drug may have been cut with, they are potentially putting his or her life at risk. There are some different drugs that have been developed that help opiate addicts stop taking most opiates, and can also help prevent an overdose from occurring. In the state of Ohio, there are just over a few different treatment centers located in different cities that use Suboxone to help treat opiate addiction and dependency. Not all individuals hooked on opiates are addicts, some of them ended up in a tough situation because of being prescribed a prescription pain medication and never being able to successfully come off of it. Opiates cause serious physical dependency, and most users go through severe withdrawals experiencing a variety of different symptoms. If these symptoms are not handled properly they may end up relapsing and going back onto their previous drug of choice.
