Substance Abuse Treatment Centers in Brownsville, Texas

The city of Brownsville is a part of Cameron County which has been greatly affected by the abuse of alcohol and drugs in the last few years. Truthfully, this is the kind of issue that should not be taken lightly since it has the potential of causing an enormous amount of damage. This is why it is so important that there are many drug rehab programs in Brownsville to help those in need. In fact, it is currently wreaking havoc in the community and has cost many people their lives. In order to get the whole picture of this problem, we will be going over statistics from Cameron County. The first thing we will look at is alcohol-impaired driving, and for 2014-2018 it caused 32 deaths, which accounts for 19% of the 167 driving deaths for that period. There is additionally excessive drinking that was reported by 15% of the county’s adult population in 2017. Finally, drug overdoses too led to many fatalities, with a death rate of 46 deaths per 100,000 population, according to County Health Rankings. Drug and alcohol addiction does not discriminate, and they can affect just about anyone, even law enforcement. They are presented with situations that are extremely stressful and are pressured to keep their city safe every day. Treatment for law enforcement does exist and can be extremely beneficial for them. It will provide them with an environment where they can deal with their problems and learn how to handle these high-pressure situations without resort to any substance. After fully overcoming their addiction issues, they will be able to keep serving and protecting their community from the dangers of drugs and alcohol while being drug-free themselves.
