Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Programs for DUI/DWI Offenders in Alabama

An alcohol and drug safety action program is a type of substance abuse program, that is often state-wide. When someone in the state of Alabama has been charged with a DUI or DWI, they will often have a certain amount of days to enroll in an alcohol and drug safety action program or some version of it. On average in the state of Alabama, there are over 270 deaths annually because of drunk driving, and roughly 1.7% of the population who are adults and can drive, do report they drive after drinking too much. Driving under the influence can be a serious offense. And programs are often in place to help the offender not make this same mistake when they have been convicted of the crime. There are many circumstances, where the offender is often addicted to alcohol and struggles with some type of addiction. In other situations, the individual simply drank too much and decided to get behind the wheel and drive.
