Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Programs for DUI/DWI Offenders in California

Alcohol and drug safety action programs in California, are often part of the conviction process when someone has been charged with a DUI or DWI. After being convicted, you will often have to enroll in some type of alcohol and drug safety action program within a certain time-frame. These types of programs have been proven to reduce the number of deaths each year and injuries, which are caused by impaired driving. On average within the state of California, there are roughly 1000 deaths annually because of impaired driving. Roughly 1.8% of the population will report they will drive after drinking too much. When you have been convicted with a DUI or DWI, you will have to attend one of these programs. During the time spent in this program, you will look at the reasons why you choose to drive while impaired and how you can prevent these problems from occurring in the future. Prevention is the key, with ensuring people who are charged and convicted in California with a DUI, do not repeat this offense again.
