Armstrong County can be found in the state of Pennsylvania. The county seat is Kittanning. It is home to an estimated population of around 64,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau. In 20199 there were 35.1 drug deaths for every 10,000 residents of the state according to a report from America’s Health Rankings, one of the highest rates in the nation. Many of these deaths likely occurred in Armstrong County, as well as many other areas across the state. This shows only a fraction of how many people are not getting the help that they need from drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services before it is too late. When a person first begins using drugs, it is particularly common that the person accidentally overdoses before ever being ready to get help. This is why you should never ignore signs of drug use in a loved one. Act before it is too late to do anything to help them. In early addiction the person has a much lower tolerance to drugs, making them extremely susceptible to accidentally overdose. The only way to help them is to get them into treatment, but they often are unwilling to receive help because they do not think that they have a problem. This is where intervention can be very successful to get them to take the first step.
