Blair County is a county that can be found in the state of Pennsylvania. The county seat is Hollidaysburg. It is home to an estimated population of around 121,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau. In 2019 there were 35.1 drug deaths for every 100,000 residents of the state according to a report from America’s Health Rankings, which is one of the higher rates in the nation for that time period. This shows exactly how many people are not getting the help that they need before losing their lives to addiction. This is not necessarily the fault of the centers who provide these services, since so many people accidentally overdose before ever being ready to get help. This is why you must never ignore signs of drug use waiting for the person to be “ready”. That day may never come before tragedy strikes. This is exactly why you should confront them about their drug use and intervene before it is too late. In early addiction but is not uncommon for the person to misjudge their dose or misidentify the drug, leading to an overdose. Although intervention may not have as high of rates long term as people going to treatment on their own accord, it is certainly better than doing nothing and waiting.
