Benton is a county that is located in the state of Oregon. Home to an estimated population of more than 93,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau, Benton is one of the larger counties in the state. But one drawback to being densely populated is the risk of increased rates of drug addiction and overrode, something that has been a major issue for the state of Oregon since America’s drug epidemic began in the early 20000s. In 2019 there were 12.4 drug deaths for every 100,000 residents of the state according to a report published by America’s Health Rankings, a rate which was likely even higher in counties like Benton. This shows exactly how many people did not get the help that they needed when it comes to drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services. Every single drug death was a life that could have been saved if the person had gotten the right kind of help for their needs at the right point in their life. But so many people never make it into treatment before their life is lost to drugs. In early addiction, it is not uncommon for the person to accidentally overdose before they were ever ready to get help. This is why you must never ignore signs of drug use in a loved one. Act now before it is too late.
