All across the state of California, drug and alcohol addiction is an on-going issue and problem, especially with the opioid epidemic spreading across the United States. There are many different types of drug and alcohol treatment in the state, and partial hospitalization programs are just one form of help. These types of programs are also referred to as intensive outpatient services, and still provide a high quality of care and support. Partial hospitalization programs in California will still require the patient to attend treatment daily for five to seven days a week, for a certain amount of time each day. The length of the program will depend upon the severity of the addiction, and how long the addict has been using drugs for. An addict who has been dependent on drugs for several years may not benefit from a partial hospitalization program, and may find that a long-term residential center may be more beneficial for their situation.
