Cameron County is a county that can be found in the state of Pennsylvania. The county seat is Emporium. It is home to an estimated population of around 4,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau, making it one of the smallest counties in the state by population. But this does not mean that the area has not seen some of the same struggles that larger and more densely populated areas have, particularly when it comes to drug addiction and overdose. Since America’s drug epidemic began in the early 2000s, even rural areas are no longer safe from the scourge of addiction. In 2019 there were 35.1 drug deaths for every 100,000 residents of the state according to a report from America’s Health Rankings, a rate which shows exactly how man people are not getting the help that they need when it comes to drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services. Each of these lives could have potentially been saved if they had gotten help before it was too late. But so many people do not make it into treatment before accidentally overdosing and losing their lives to drugs. This is why you should never wait for them to be ready since that day may never come. Act now before it is too late to help them.
