Centre County is a county that can be found in the state of Pennsylvania. The county seat of Bellefonte. It is home to an estimated population of around 162,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau. In 2019 there were 35.1 drug deaths per 100,000 people in the state according to a report from America’s Health Rankings, a rate which was one of the worst in the nation for that period. This shows that there were likely at least 40 drug deaths in Centre County that year alone, a rate which is only indicative of a portion of the total number of people who struggled with substance abuse that year. Each of these people will probably meet the same fate though unless they get help from drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services before it is too late. Drugs have become stronger and stronger and now synthetic drugs are responsible for killing people at high rates. People who are in early addiction are even more likely to overdose because they just began using drugs and have a much lower tolerance than people who have been using drugs for a long time. This is exactly why you should never ignore signs of drug use in a loved one waiting for them to be ready. Act before it is too late to help them.
