GET A CALL BACK

Charlotte County’s county seat is the town of Charlotte Court House, and they have been affected by substance abuse problems in these last years. It has definitely caused a great deal of damage in the community and still does to this day. This type of problem should not be overlooked, because it can lead to devastation and the harm it may cause can be irreparable. The first issue we will be looking at is alcohol-impaired driving, as during the 2014-2018 period, it led to the deaths of 5 individuals, which accounts for 29% of the driving deaths that occurred within those years. Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs can definitely be prevented by simply planning ahead, and this can include making sure that you have a safe way to get home after a night of drinking. Additionally, when someone is hosting people in their home and alcohol is served, they should ensure that their guests get home safely. According to County Health Rankings, there is also excessive drinking that was reported by 15% of adults in Charlotte County. Now, of course, when a person is struggling with alcohol and/or drug abuse, treatment is the safest way for them. For certain people though, intensive treatment might not be an option. This may be because they have a family or other responsibilities to fulfill, but this does not mean that they shouldn’t get help. There are outpatient treatment programs available that can give these people a chance to get assistance in overcoming their addiction. With such programs, instead of having to live at the facility, they can come regularly for visits with specialists, group meetings, etc., and really work on recovering from their substance abuse issues. Everyone should get the help they need, and outpatient treatment helps ensure that.
