College and University Students Addiction Services in Georgia
The University of Georgia in Athens is one of the oldest public universities in the nation. There are roughly 30 public colleges and universities and over 35 nonprofit private institutions. Three of the colleges in Georgia rank on the 100 best schools in the US. The average student going to college has a goal to graduate and start the career they want. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and some students become caught up in problems with drugs and alcohol. An addiction can happen easily, and it can start with binge binge drinking or even experimenting with drugs. Peer pressure often plays a role in how students become addicted. The stress of meeting deadlines, going to class, working and going to school can also drive students to use drugs or alcohol to mellow out. Some students take drugs such as Adderall or Ritalin to help them study. If you are struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, you should be reaching out for help. Some colleges provide counseling services on campus. However, there are many inpatient and outpatient treatment services in Georgia.
