College and University Students Addiction Services in New Mexico

New Mexico State University is the oldest school within the state and there are around nine different public four-year institutions and a few nonprofit private schools. The colleges/universities’ in the state have some of the highest rates of Native American and Hispanic residents as a percentage of the total population. New Mexico has some of the most culturally diverse colleges/universities within the US. Two of the colleges in the state rank among the 100 best schools in the nation. Going to college should be a good time academically and socially. However, this good time can be taken to another level, and drugs and alcohol become a problem. When this happens, it is important to get help, and find treatment. Within the state are both inpatient and outpatient treatment centers to help addicts who are struggling with addiction. Most of the colleges in New Mexico offer counseling services, and some may have recovery groups for recovering addicts.
