Collier County is a county that can be found in the state of Florida. Home to a population of approximately 384,000 people as of 2019 per the United States Census Bureau, Collier County is one of the larger ones in the state. But this is not necessarily a good thing, since densely populated areas have become hotbeds for drug addiction and overdose since the beginning of the millennium when America’s drug epidemic began. The state of Florida has experienced this problem firsthand and has one of t he biggest drug problems in the country. According to County Health Rankings, from 2015 to 107 there were 171 drug deaths in Collier County. This shows exactly how many people didn’t get the vital help they needed, specifically from drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services. But this doesn’t exactly mean that these facilities and services failed them since many of these people never set foot in treatment even once. More and more people are overdosing early in addiction because their tolerance is lower and drugs like Fentanyl have become more and more prevalent. This is why you should never ignore suspicions that you may have about a loved one possibly using drugs. No one wants to regret not doing everything possible to save a life.
