Columbia County is a county which is located in the state of Pennsylvania. The county seat is Bloomsburg. Columbia County is home to an estimated population of around 64,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau, making it one of the smaller counties in the state by population. But this has had no bearing on the drug problem that has struck the state and the nation since the early 2000s, which has turned many rural communities into epicenters f addiction. In 2019 there were 35.1 drug deaths for every 100,00 residents of the state according to a report from America’s Health Rankings. This is one of the highest rates in the nation for any state during that time period and shows just how many people are not getting the bare minimum services from drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox facilities to save their life before it is too late. Even more people struggle with addiction and have not died yet, but likely will if they do not get treatment soon. This is why you should never ignore signs of drug use in a loved one waiting for them to be “ready”. That day may never come, and no one wants to regret not doing everything possible to save a life.
