Substance abuse has affected every state in different ways. Because it is a small state with a relatively low population, Delaware has not made national news on the subject of addiction to drugs and alcohol. That does not mean it has not been a problem here though. It is. This state in particular has buckled under the pressure of heroin trafficking, something that almost never happened before.

They have opened many new rehab centers, and they have filled them. This trend needs to continue, and with enough effort this state could be one of the first, addiction-free states.
