Delaware Long-Term Drug Rehab Centers

Our professional opinion at DRS is that long-term rehab offers the best opportunities for lifelong sobriety. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • For those struggling with an addiction to opioids or alcohol, long-term treatment is the ideal option, as such programs can properly treat this problem.
  • With all this time at the facility, clients have plenty of time to address the underlying issues connected to their addiction.
  • By living at the treatment center, clients have very little contact with the outside world, which allows them time to focus on their recovery.
  • Psychological and medical support is available to them on a 24/7 basis.

Getting Help With Substance Use: The Basics

Paying for Treatment in Delaware

Drug and alcohol treatment services are the best way to overcome any substance use problem; however, treatment can come with a cost. Being able to afford treatment is a major concern for some drug users, which can prevent their enrollment into treatment. Health insurance coverage, including Medicaid, covers drug and alcohol recovery services to ensure that residents of Delaware can leave the addiction in the past.

Paying for Treatment with Medicaid in Delaware

Delaware has had a low rate of uninsured residents due to Medicaid acceptance in the state. With Medicaid coverage, clients can receive affordable health care that they may need, which includes drug and alcohol treatment services. This can help patients afford a drug rehab program to overcome their substance use problem before it is too late. Medicaid is only accepted in certain drug treatment centers in Delaware. Hence, it is important to initiate the process of finding a drug rehab program as soon as possible, as a waitlist can often prevent clients from receiving immediate treatment.

Using Private Insurance to pay for Drug Rehab in Delaware

Utilizing private health insurance to pay for drug treatment services can greatly reduce treatment costs. These insurance providers will work directly with some of the more effective forms of drug treatment services to ensure that the addiction can be ended. Private health insurance can cover less of the total cost depending on the policy; therefore, you should contact your provider to understand your coverage, the programs that accept it, and any expected out-of-pocket expenses.

According to Delaware’s health marketplace, the following insurers are available in Delaware for 2023:

  • Aetna
  • AmeriHealth
  • Highmark BCBSD

Paying for Drug Rehab When Uninsured

Paying for drug and alcohol treatment programs without health insurance can cause the patient to have large out-of-pocket expenses. When people do not have the finances available for treatment, they do not receive the services needed to assist them with ending their addiction. With some of the financial options available at drug rehab centers, uninsured patients have options. A sliding scale fee is one way a drug rehab can help patients. They take the patient’s income and calculate an affordable cost. Some form of treatment must be sought when trying to end drug addiction, and DRS can help you find the right one.

DRS’ Evaluation of Delaware

The average person searching for substance use treatment in Delaware will find the lack of well-rounded treatment resources frustrating. While it is beneficial that a lot of outpatient facilities are available, the state lacks a variety of services, such as detox, outpatient, or inpatient options.

In contrast, what is available is affordable as Medicaid covers most treatment options. Private health insurance plans should also be considered and is available at most facilities in Delaware. When possible, we recommend finding something out of state if there is no immediate availability within the state. It is important to find something right away and avoid waiting for a spot to open up. However, with that said, go on the waitlist, but place priority on a program that offers immediate admittance.

His experience includes working with families during their loved one’s stay in treatment, helping those with substance abuse issues find treatment, and teaching life skills to patients in a recovery atmosphere. Though he has worked in many different areas of rehabilitation, the majority of his time was spent working one on one with patients who were actively withdrawing from drugs. Withdrawal and the fear of going through it is one biggest reason why an addict continues to use and can be the most difficult part of the rehabilitation process. His experience in the withdrawal atmosphere has taught him that regardless of what approach a person takes to get off drugs, there are always mental and emotional obstacles that need to be overcome. He believes having someone there to help a person through these obstacles can make all the difference during the withdrawal process.
