Suboxone & Buprenorphine Detox & Treatment in Minnesota

Buprenorphine and Suboxone are addictive drugs that are prescribed to opioid addicts to treat opioid addiction. For too many opioid addicts in Minnesota, they are simply transferred from an addictive opioid to another. Buprenorphine is derived from an opium extract and does produce the same euphoric effects as heroin. Detox from buprenorphine or Suboxone is not easy, and it will require a medical detox to ensure the process can be done right. When opioid addicts are placed on this type of drug, it is not meant for long-term use. Buprenorphine will create a physical and psychological dependency, which can be difficult to overcome without the proper help. Anytime you do go to a drug and alcohol treatment program, your primary goal to be to become completely drug-free. You should not have to replace one drug with another substance. However, because of how difficult opioids are to stop using; many opioid addicts turn to drugs such as buprenorphine.

Will Suboxone detox be part of drug rehabilitation?

In some cases, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program will have a detox process incorporated as part of the treatment process. This may not always be a Suboxone detox, and this is because it is more of a specialized form of care for patients. Suboxone detox centers will usually be a separate entity altogether and can help a patient transition into a suitable drug rehabilitation program.
