About this center

Addiction Recovery Care Association, Inc. (ARCA) is a nonprofit, licensed substance use disorder treatment organization in Winston-Salem, North Carolina that provides a continuum of care designed to help adults overcome alcohol and drug addiction through medically supervised detoxification, residential treatment, outpatient support and family-involved services housed within structured environments. ARCA has served the Piedmont Triad region for decades, emphasizing evidence-informed care and community reintegration.

Non-Hospital Detoxification and Residential Treatment

ARCA’s programming begins with medically supervised detoxification services suited for people needing clinical support to safely withdraw from substances. Following stabilization, residents enter a residential treatment program where daily routines combine individual and group therapy, cognitive behavioral approaches, relapse prevention education, 12-Step-informed recovery work and supportive peer engagement to reinforce coping skills and behavioral change. The facility operates with multidisciplinary clinical staff and offers tailored treatment planning to match individual needs.

Family Programs, Aftercare and Supportive Continuity

Beyond core residential care, ARCA provides family therapy groups, education, aftercare planning and transitional housing referrals, helping clients and loved ones rebuild relationships and practical stability as recovery progresses. Its staff works with clients on aftercare plans that connect them to community resources or step-down outpatient care following residence to support sustained recovery.

Evidence-Informed Recovery Within Daily Life

Daily life at ARCA integrates psycho-educational lectures, individual sessions, therapeutic groups, gender-specific modalities, mindfulness work and nightly AA/NA meetings, all within a structured schedule that mirrors real-world responsibilities while in residence. This approach builds accountability and practical skills that carry into life after discharge.

Accreditation and Community-Focused Mission

ARCA is licensed by the State of North Carolina and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), reflecting its CARF accreditation and evidence-based standards. The organization also engages in community outreach and education, working to reduce stigma and increase understanding of addiction and recovery.

A Residential and Outpatient Recovery Continuum

From detox to residential care and outpatient services, ARCA offers a comprehensive treatment pathway that helps individuals step away from chaotic environments and embed recovery work into structured daily life, supporting lasting change and reintegration into family, work and community roles.
