Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest’s Billings Men’s Campus is a long-term residential recovery and discipleship program for men in Billings, Montana, set on five acres at the west end of the city. It was the organization’s first men’s facility in Montana and houses 16 to 20 men at full capacity. Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest is a nonprofit running faith-based residential programs across the northwestern states, Hawaii, and Alaska.
A One-Year Residential Discipleship Program
The program runs a year and rests on Christian discipleship rather than a clinical model alone. Men accepted here are referred to as students rather than patients, and the change the organization aims for is meant to reach the mind, the emotions, the body, a person’s social life, and their spiritual life together. The curriculum works through a range of subjects intended to confront the thinking that sustains addiction and turn men toward recovery, with a certificate of graduation for those who complete it. The program is open to men dealing with drug and alcohol addiction along with other life-controlling problems.
Vocational Training and Counseling
Vocational training is one of the program’s main components, teaching life skills, stewardship, and teamwork through real work rather than classroom instruction alone, with biblical principles applied to daily routine. The campus also draws on the organization’s counseling arm, which provides Christ-centered clinical counseling as part of the overall approach. Community outreach and prevention work make up a further part of what Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest does beyond the residential campuses.
