The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA) operates a residential addiction treatment center in Bossier City, Louisiana, providing 24/7 care for adults seeking recovery from substance use disorders. CADA is a nonprofit organization that has served the Shreveport-Bossier area and surrounding communities since its establishment in 1958. The organization is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), having held continuous three-year accreditations since 2013, with the most recent renewal in 2026.
Residential Treatment Programs
CADA’s Bossier City facility offers a high-intensity residential program consisting of a 28-day stay with a full schedule of clinical and therapeutic services. Programming includes group therapy, individual counseling, family counseling, relapse prevention, gender-specific community groups, educational lectures, 12-step support groups, and daily recreation. Graduates of the high-intensity program who qualify may step down into a low-intensity residential track, a 90-day program in a halfway-house setting that focuses on life skills development, education, and employment readiness. The residential program is open to all adults, and CADA accepts commercial insurance, Medicaid, and self-pay, with state-funded treatment available for eligible individuals who have no other means to cover costs.
The Family Renewal Program
CADA also operates a Family Renewal Program at the residential facility, serving pregnant women and mothers with dependent children aged twelve and under. This program provides substance use disorder treatment in a residential setting alongside parenting skills education and activities and support services for children. Space in the Family Renewal Program is limited.
