About this center

Hour House Adult Outpatient and DUI Evaluation/Risk Education in Shelbyville, Illinois, is a satellite office operated by the Central East Alcoholism and Drug Council. The Shelbyville location extends the organization’s outpatient and DUI services into Shelby County, complementing the main campus in Charleston and the satellite office in Mattoon. Hour House holds CARF accreditation and is licensed by the Illinois Department of Human Services, with funding from the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery and SAMHSA.

Outpatient Counseling and Treatment

Adults seeking treatment for substance use disorders at the Shelbyville office receive individual, group, and family counseling while maintaining their regular work and home routines. The program builds individualized treatment plans through a trauma-informed framework that incorporates gender-specific support and encourages family participation. For clients with opioid or alcohol use disorders, medication-assisted treatment pairs FDA-approved medications with ongoing counseling and behavioral therapies. Assessments are available around the clock on an emergency basis, and initial screenings can be completed in approximately one hour by phone or in person.

DUI Evaluations, Risk Education, and Harm Reduction

The Shelbyville office provides court-ordered DUI evaluations and risk education programming. Hour House supports broader harm reduction efforts through free Narcan distribution at all of its facilities and across community partner sites spanning an eight-county area, including multiple locations in Shelby County. Recovery Navigators based within the organization offer peer-driven outreach and recovery support throughout the surrounding region.
