Dorchester County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Dorchester County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse has prepared several comprehensive substance abuse recovery programs for women, men, and adolescents. They offer intensive outpatient recovery treatment that provides men and women appropriate treatment for their addiction through a professional counselling session. They provide this treatment for the client after the client has gone through the assessment process. The intensive therapy course offers specialized treatment for the clients through on-site counselling sessions; it offers three hours of counselling for four days a week. They also offer specified women’s intensive counselling session through which women can receive gender-specific care. They offer a network of support through the counselling sessions and individualized relapse prevention plans. The clients are also provided with coping skills during the counselling session as well as supplemental education. They also offer outpatient service for clients with mild addiction issues. This service provides continuing care groups, adults risk reduction, and motivational recovery groups to the clients. They also offer many court-related services such as the Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program, Interstate Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program, Pre-Trial Intervention, Offender Based Intervention, and Alcohol Education Program.
