About this center

DUI Metropolitan Services, Inc. is an outpatient substance abuse treatment and DUI services provider in Chicago, Illinois, approved by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR). The center offers DUI evaluations, risk education, early intervention, outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment, alcohol and drug assessments, and FDA-approved drug testing. Services are available in English and Spanish.

Evaluations and Risk-Based Programming

The center conducts DUI evaluations consisting of a one to two hour interview process covering family, educational, employment, emotional, and substance use history, along with standardized clinical instruments including the Mortimer-Filkins Test and the ASUDS-RI. The evaluation produces one of four risk classifications: minimal risk requires a minimum of 10 hours of DUI risk education, moderate risk adds 12 or more hours of early intervention over at least four weeks, significant risk includes risk education plus 20 or more hours of substance abuse treatment, and high risk requires a minimum of 75 hours of substance abuse treatment. All classifications except minimal risk require active ongoing participation in a continuing care plan following discharge.

Treatment Programs and License Reinstatement

Outpatient treatment consists of regularly scheduled sessions averaging fewer than nine hours per week, while intensive outpatient treatment provides a minimum of nine hours per week, with both adjusted to individual needs. Early intervention involves a minimum of 12 hours of group sessions over four weeks. The center also offers a license reinstatement program called The Path, which prepares clients for Secretary of State administrative hearings by ensuring all documentation meets Illinois Administrative Code requirements and that clients can present clear and convincing testimony of their fitness to drive.
