Growth Works is a private nonprofit organization in Plymouth, Michigan, providing substance use treatment and recovery support alongside services for youth and families. Outpatient Substance Use Treatment
Growth Works provides outpatient substance use treatment for adults, welcoming people who are questioning whether they have a problem with drugs or alcohol, those who feel their use has become unmanageable, and those already working to maintain their recovery. Care begins with an initial assessment of each person’s strengths and needs, and treatment is delivered largely through group sessions that meet twice weekly, helping clients identify and manage triggers, express their feelings in a safe environment, and build supportive relationships, with a separate weekly relapse-prevention group offering ongoing support. The program is equipped to address substance use disorders along with co-occurring needs, whether tied to trauma or involvement with the justice system, and clients can enter either voluntarily or through a court referral.
Peer Recovery Coaching and Community Support
Complementing its treatment services, Growth Works offers peer recovery coaching provided by State of Michigan certified coaches who have their own lived experience of addiction and recovery. These coaches help clients locate treatment resources, develop life skills, and pursue employment, and they also lead overdose-prevention education for individuals and community groups. Working in partnership with local health and public safety organizations, Growth Works connects people to support at critical moments and is part of its mission to help individuals and families restore hope and improve their lives.
