Since its founding, Harbor House has served as a beacon of hope to those lost in the grips of addiction and to the families searching for help. With the vision of progressive business and community leaders, Harbor House was established as a non-profit organization in 1973 to address the dire need for affordable and accessible community-based residential substance abuse treatment. Over the past 45 years, we have served over 16,000 clients and their families. Our treatment philosophy emphasizes individualized treatment focused on helping clients to hope, heal, revive and recover by rehabilitating the mind, body and spirit. We approach a substance use disorder as a treatable illness that affects a person biologically, psychologically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Using our person-centered approach, the specific needs of individuals receiving treatment are addressed, as well as that of the family and children.
