Highland House offers halfway residential treatment to women that struggle with addiction in a gender-specific environment. It offers long-term recovery care and support to the women with alcohol and drug dependency disorders at their facility. Women over the age of 18 can receive treatment at this facility. The primary aim of the facility is to provide housing care halfway to women that have already completed an inpatient recovery program in the past year. They offer various transitional counselling sessions to the women under their care, so they become more comfortable with handling real responsibilities. The patients will be given group and individual counsel to the clients, so they may resolve any lasting issues from their last treatment. They are also encouraged to participate in community events and activities, where they can use their newly acquired recovery skills. Highland Housing also offers transition services to women offenders and female criminal justice clients of the area.
