HOPE Cottonwood is a peer-driven outpatient recovery center in Cottonwood, Arizona, co-located with Spectrum Healthcare Group, offering licensed peer support services to adults living with substance use disorders and mental illness. HOPE is a nonprofit peer and family-run organization, with the Cottonwood location serving the Verde Valley as part of its Northern Arizona expansion.
Peer-Driven Recovery Support for Substance Use and Mental Health
HOPE’s model is built around the power of peer support: services delivered by and alongside people with their own lived experience of behavioral health and substance use challenges. At the Cottonwood center, member-driven services provide a structured, safe environment for individuals who need more than crisis intervention but may not require clinical residential care. The approach emphasizes creating natural support systems, building independence, and connecting members to the broader network of resources they need to sustain recovery in their own community.
Center-Based Services Covering Recovery’s Practical Dimensions
The Cottonwood center delivers a range of peer support services designed to address recovery across multiple life domains. Services include case management, coordination of care, independent living skills training, information and referral services, transportation, health and wellness support, pre-employment support, and substance use education. This combination of practical and recovery-focused services reflects HOPE’s understanding that lasting recovery requires stability across housing, employment, health, and community connection alongside abstinence from substances.
Opioid Outreach Through the State Opioid Response Grant
HOPE is a recipient of the Arizona State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant, funding a dedicated outreach team that conducts targeted outreach to underserved, high-risk populations in Yavapai County, the county that encompasses Cottonwood. The Yavapai County outreach team is available seven days a week, 7am to 6pm, to assist uninsured and underinsured adults 18 and older with opioid use disorder in navigating MAT services, connecting to peer support, and accessing the additional services needed for successful recovery.
