In 1976, an inspired community group recognized the need for an urban clinic that would serve Tulsa-area Indian people in a culturally sensitive environment. Today the need continues as almost 20,000 Indian people seek the services of Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa, Inc. (IHCRC) each year. Utilizing a patient-centered, multidisciplinary, Medical Home approach, IHCRC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, offers a full range of health and wellness services tailored to the Indian community.
IHCRC believes in patient first, quality care. This commitment to quality is evident in its fifth accreditation and its certification as a Medical Home by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Through the highest level of care, IHCRC seeks to improve the general health status and reduce the incidence and severity of chronic disease by engaging the Indian community in ongoing health promotion, prevention, and disease management activities.
