Mayflower Recovery is a medically monitored detox and residential treatment center for adults with drug and alcohol addiction in Wilmington, Massachusetts. Housed in a modern, purpose-built facility that opened in 2021, the Joint Commission certified center provides a safe and comfortable environment for people beginning recovery, roughly twenty miles north of Boston. It serves individuals from across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire who need medically supervised detoxification and short-term residential care.
Medically Monitored Detox and Stabilization
Mayflower offers two connected levels of care. Its Acute Treatment Services provide medically monitored detoxification, averaging three to seven days, with round-the-clock medical oversight to safely guide individuals through withdrawal from alcohol and a range of other substances while easing discomfort along the way. From there, Clinical Stabilization Services offer a residential stay of roughly two to three weeks that builds on detox through individualized treatment planning, therapy and counseling, education, motivational support, and case management. To reduce barriers at a critical moment, the center operates a rapid intake process designed to move people from that first call into care quickly.
A Comfortable, Modern Environment
Set within a newly constructed facility of about twenty-two thousand square feet, Mayflower pairs clinical care with an emphasis on comfort and dignity. Residents stay in professionally designed bedrooms and have access to restaurant-quality meals, a fireplace great room, and dedicated spaces for relaxation and activities, creating an atmosphere closer to a retreat than a traditional institution. The center is Joint Commission certified and works in network with major insurers, reflecting its goal of making a difficult but important step both accessible and as comfortable as possible.
