Raymore, Missouri is home to one of Midwest ADP’s four offices in the Kansas City metro. The organization exists largely to serve people whose substance use has produced a court obligation, and its services take in the state’s traffic offender program, alcohol and drug education, counseling, outpatient treatment, and supervised probation. Midwest ADP began in 1985 and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Screening and the State Program
A Missouri driver arrested for an impaired driving offense enters a state program, and nobody proceeds through it without being screened first. Midwest ADP performs that screening, which pulls together the person’s driving record, the blood alcohol reading taken at arrest, a computer-scored assessment, and an interview conducted by a substance use counselor. The referral to a service level follows from what the screening finds, and all four levels are provided by Midwest ADP itself.
Probation, Classes, and Ongoing Treatment
The organization supervises probation on behalf of courts, requiring monthly reporting so adherence to court-set conditions can be checked and any breach reported back. Two shorter court-ordered classes are offered as well: a driver improvement course of eight hours, certified by the state safety center and usable toward a points waiver, and a four-hour class for those charged with shoplifting or theft, timed for a weekday evening or a weekend morning. For anyone needing more sustained help, alcohol and drug education, counseling, and outpatient treatment are available.
