The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Greater Detroit Area (NCADD-GDA) provides substance use treatment through its Vantage Point West treatment center in Detroit, Michigan. Operating under a “Recovery with Dignity” philosophy, this nonprofit takes a person-centered approach for adults and adolescents working to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. Its programs are CARF-accredited and shaped around each client’s individual needs.
Treatment Programs and Levels of Care
Care at Vantage Point West typically begins with an assessment and evaluation that helps determine the right level of care for each client. The center offers an abstinence-based program for alcohol dependence built around education, therapy, and physical healing, along with clinical services for people struggling with a range of drug addictions, including cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and prescription drugs. Because the organization addresses substance use alongside co-occurring concerns, treatment plans are customized to fit each person’s specific situation and goals.
Who It Serves and Recovery Support
The center provides treatment for men, women, and adolescents between twelve and seventeen years of age, offering programming suited to each of these groups. Peer-led recovery coaching is a central part of the approach, designed to improve treatment outcomes and help clients sustain their sobriety over the long term. NCADD-GDA also connects individuals and families to referrals and additional resources, supporting recovery as an ongoing process well beyond the initial course of treatment.
