Restoration Ministries – Tabitha House

Updated on: 27 July 2026

About this center

Tabitha House for Women is a free, faith-based residential recovery program in South Holland, Illinois, operated by Restoration Ministries. The program serves women trapped in addiction and offers them an opportunity to make lasting changes through Christian principles, counseling, and practical life-skills development. Restoration Ministries has been active in the community since 1988, and Tabitha House is housed in a home setting in South Holland that the organization moved the program to as it expanded over the years. The organization also operates Harvey House, a residential recovery program for men at its main facility in Harvey, Illinois.

A 12-to-18-Month Residential Program for Women

Tabitha House provides a safe, home-like living environment where women work through a program grounded in Christian teaching and supported by the power of faith-centered community. Through counseling, Bible studies, devotional time, educational opportunities, and job training, women are equipped to rise beyond their circumstances and build the skills needed for productive, independent living. The program also focuses on rebuilding relationships with children and family members. A court advocate is assigned to women who are on probation or who have children in foster care, assisting them in working toward reunification with their children upon completing the program. Residents gain hands-on job training and employment experience through Restoration Ministries’ thrift store operations, including its flagship location in South Holland.

Admissions and Eligibility

Women seeking admission to Tabitha House must have a minimum of five to seven days clean time before entry and must agree to random drug testing throughout their stay. All residents commit to the program’s goals of recovery, restoration, reinstatement, and re-entry into positive, productive lives, and must be willing to accept the program’s structure and authority. Tabitha House is open to women of any race, color, or nationality, with the expectation that all participants are open to change in every area of their lives according to Christian principles. There is no charge to participate in the program.
