The Riverbend Men’s Recovery Home is a residential addiction treatment program for men in early recovery in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Operated by Riverbend, a Greater Lowell nonprofit formerly known as Lowell House, the twenty-four-bed home has provided housing and supportive services to men working to overcome substance use since 1972. Its approach is peer-centered and community-focused, helping residents prepare to return to their communities independent and substance free.
A Residential Program for Men in Early Recovery
The Men’s Recovery Home offers stable housing paired with the supportive services men need during the early, often fragile, stage of recovery. Central to the program is a sense of community, where residents take part in groups and lean on the shared experience of others who understand the challenges of overcoming addiction. Within this encouraging environment, men work to establish healthy routines, rebuild their confidence, and develop the tools required to sustain sobriety once they leave. Drawing on decades of experience, the home is oriented toward helping each resident move steadily toward an independent, substance-free life.
Co-Occurring Capable Care and Continued Support
The home is also co-occurring capable, prepared to work with men who are managing co-occurring disorders in addition to their addiction. Because it operates within Riverbend’s wider network of evidence-based treatment and recovery services, residents can be connected to further supports and levels of care as their recovery progresses. This blend of a community-centered setting, long-standing experience, and access to a broader continuum of care reflects the home’s commitment to helping men build a stable and lasting recovery.
