CARF Accredited

About this center

Sobriety House is a CARF-accredited addiction treatment center for adult men in Detroit, Michigan, offering both residential and outpatient care. Established in 1964, it has spent decades serving men seeking to overcome chemical dependency, guided by a person-centered, respectful approach aimed at restoring self-worth and building lasting, sober lives. The center places special emphasis on reaching an often underserved population and helping each man develop the tools for relapse prevention and long-term recovery.

Residential and Outpatient Treatment for Men

Sobriety House meets men at different stages of recovery through complementary levels of care. Its residential program provides a structured, 30-day stay in a supportive environment where men can step away from daily pressures and focus fully on their recovery, while its outpatient services offer continued support for those balancing treatment with work, family, or other responsibilities. Case management runs throughout, connecting clients to practical resources such as legal, educational, vocational, and employment support along with help identifying stable housing for the future.

Comprehensive, Individualized Therapies

Care at Sobriety House is highly individualized and delivered through a broad range of therapeutic approaches. These include individual and group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, family and co-dependency counseling, and trauma counseling, along with co-occurring services for men who are managing additional conditions alongside their substance use. Recovery support services and a welcoming environment round out the clinical care.
