Partridge House is a tribal government-operated, residential addiction treatment program on the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe (Akwesasne) reservation in Hogansburg, NY, serving adult men and women whose alcohol, drug or substance use has deeply disrupted daily life, roles, relationships and wellbeing. It is the only Native American inpatient addiction program in the region licensed through the New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), combining structured clinical care with cultural supports and spiritual focus to address addiction holistically.
A Structured, Trauma-Informed Residential Recovery Track
Partridge House’s core offering is a 56-day residential program where participants live onsite in a substance-free, supportive community setting. The focus is on early recovery and stabilizing use patterns through a blend of individual and group counseling, educational lectures, gender-specific therapeutic groups, 12-Step introduction and relapse-prevention planning, all guided by certified alcohol and substance abuse counselors.
Cultural Teachings and Healing Integrated With Therapy
Alongside evidence-informed clinical care, the program integrates traditional Native American teachings, spiritual ceremonies and culturally grounded activities that promote self-discovery, resilience and identity-rooted healing. This culturally anchored approach recognizes the unique experiences of Indigenous communities and uses heritage, ceremony and community connection as part of the recovery journey.
Family Education, Support and Community Linkages
Partridge House also offers weekly family education groups open to the broader community, helping loved ones understand addiction, support recovery, and strengthen relationships. Staff help residents and families navigate post-program planning, referrals and aftercare resources to support continuation of recovery work beyond the residential stay.
A Residential Choice Anchored in Healing and Identity
This program fits adults whose substance use has entrenched itself into daily life and who need immersive, structured support within a culturally safe, trauma-informed environment, not just outpatient counseling. By combining clinical depth, traditional wisdom and peer community living, Partridge House creates a pathway toward sustained stability and personal wellbeing.
